The Panagia Chapel meets regularly for Vespers at 6PM, and Liturgy at 8AM. If you attend, pull in through the main gates, and drive left down the path until you arrive at the chapel. The wonderful priest here is Fr. Dino Carros. Services here are a mix of Greek and English, as this parish in the Greek Diocese. Housed in the chapel is an exact replica of the wonderworking Panagia Vimatarisa icon from Vatopedi. This parish is in Salem.

This is my home parish! Christ the Saviour meets regularly on Wednesdays for either Vespers or a Service of Repentance, and on Saturdays and Sundays for Vespers and Liturgy. Our wonderful priest is Fr. Anthony Perkins. Services here are entirely in English. We are in the Antiochian Diocese. The parish began in the 1990s as a local group of Christians found their way from Episcopalianism and, under the leadership of Fr. Cassian Dunlop, from Anglicanism into the Orthodoxy. They spent their first few months in the Western rite but, under the leadership of their new priest, Fr. David Randolph, soon opted for the Byzantine rite. Father David served as the priest and rector of the parish for twenty years (1998 to 2018). For the next few years, the parish was served by local clergy, including Fr. Gregory Mathewes-Green and Fr. Anthony Perkins. During this time, the parish was sustained by a handful of committed members. In 2023, Fr. Anthony began serving the parish full-time. We have a very healthy community and typically spend many hours after liturgy enjoying one another's company. Our parish is in Anderson.

In the 1980s, a community of Orthodox Christians founded a mission parish to minister to an increasing number of Orthodox transplants seeking English language services. After several years of dormancy, the community was re-energized in a millhouse in the late 90s, seeking to be an English-language Orthodox Church in the Slavic tradition. The rector here is Fr. Marcus Burch. Father Alexander Earl is also of personal note, as he used to come to our OCF meetings until Fr. Anthony became full-time. Services here are entirely in English, as the church is part of the OCA. This parish is in Greenville.

Saint George's is very beautiful. The current Cathedral replaced a wooden Church building built in 1942 on the same site. The rector here is Fr. Tom Pistolis. This parish is in Greenville.

This parish is very new — it does not have a full time priest as of yet. Father Anthony Perkins (from CTS) and Fr. Gregory Rogers (from St. Catherine's) alternate coming to serve occasionally. When they are unavailable, reader's services are held. This parish is in Greenwood.

This parish makes St. John the Baptist's look old. It was started— as of writing this (Sept 3, 2026)— only a few weeks ago. No priest has come to serve as of yet, but the parish is under the guidance and spiritual instruction of Fr. Anthony. I know everyone at this parish personally, and if you go to CTS, you will meet everyone also. People who go here go to CTS often. This parish is in Pickens.

This monastery is in Abbeville — so it is about 40-50 mins from Clemson. Now, nuanced thinking is the price of admission: the nuns here are sacramental rigorists, so not everything they say should be taken as Gospel. At the same time, I find that their stories are edifying and that the experience is spiritually productive. For an explanation of what "sacramental rigorism" even is, see my article "Reception by Baptism or Chrismation?" which can be found on my substack, "AXIS MUNDI." If you are an inquirer, I would simply steer clear of here for now, lest you embroil yourself in controversy. Know, though, that the controversy is not one to which there is no clear answer. The controversy is one of obedience, not theology.

Saints Mary and Martha Monastery was founded in 1989. It is part of the Bulgarian-OCA Diocese. They have been in Wagener, South Carolina since June 1996, and are located on a sixty acre parcel of land, which is about 30 miles southwest of Columbia.
